The Monster Inside L.A.'s Maine Man: A Conversation with Eric The Trainer

Eric Fleishman, better known as Eric the Trainer, began his fitness career as a 98lb. weakling living in rural Maine on a farm. After graduating high school, Eric moved to New York city and spent five years working as a personal trainer in Manhattan.  In 1996 Eric moved to Los Angeles.

Eric has since studied with some of the greatest bodybuilders of all time, and was the last apprentice to the late great Jack LaLanne. He has had his very own TV show (Celebrity Sweat), has trained actors, rockstars, UFC fighters, and even the LAPD and SWAT teams.

Having helped a wide variety of musicians, Eric has now ventured into the world of music with some songs of his own. He has recruited members of Journey, Nickelback, and many more to be part of a band project he calls Maine Monster. Eric has released two singles thus far, and is donating 100% of the proceeds to a charity called Feeding America

I had a chance to sit down with Eric and talk about his career, his musical aspirations, and his hunger to feed the hungry.

Here is Maine Monster's latest single "Girl Like You" featuring Journey's Arnel Pineda.
